Objective

Claim Your Identity and establish a password

Users

New users (applicants, students, faculty, staff) who haven’t yet signed into their account.

Before You Begin

Do you know your NUID number? If not, visit the Lookup NUID Number article.

Steps

1. In a web browser, go to https://trueyou.nebraska.edu
2. On the left-hand side, click the green button Claim Your ID
3. Under Enter Your NUID, enter your 8-digit NUID number.
4. Under Email Address, make sure you enter a personal email address, and click Next.
5. Go to the inbox of the email you provided, look for and open the email you received 
6. Click the Complete the Process link.
7. Create your password on this screen, and click Submit.
8. Follow along the next page to setup your Duo account. Once your Duo account has been activated you should be able to select Continue.
