MS 365 Add-In Policies and Procedures

Summary

This article summarizes the policies and best practices around Microsoft 365 add-ins for the University of Nebraska System

Body

Add-In Security Policies

Similar to other Big10 schools, all Add-Ins will have to go through a security review prior to approval and deployment.

Microsoft 365 Add-Ins and the Microsoft Add-In Store are currently disabled for all University of Nebraska users. NU ITS utilizes this form to process Add-In requests. Only Add-Ins determined to comply with University of Nebraska Board of Regents Executive Memorandum 16, all ITS Standards, are actively supported by their vendor, and appropriate IT risk will be approved.

Only requests for Microsoft AppSource marketplace Add-Ins will be considered. If you are requesting an Add-In which is not found in the marketplace it will not be approved. https://appsource.microsoft.com/en-us/marketplace/apps

Reference Managers at UNL

For UNL users looking to use Mendeley Cite or RefWorks Citation Manager those Add-Ins are managed by the UNL Libraries and more information can be found here https://libraries.unl.edu/citation-tools.

Add-In Support

NU ITS is only able to enable add-ins for your account and is unable to support the add-ins.
