Micro Form Factor Player

A micro form factor player is a great option for most types of standard definition content, and when the player must be mounted very close to the display. Often, this means mounting on the wall or inside of a kiosk enclosure behind the display. Micro form factor players are not capable of having discrete graphics - they can only use integrated graphics due to their small size. This limits their use when content will be very high definition and/or highly interactive. Dell, HP, and Lenovo all have micro form factor offerings and all have companion wall brackets as an additional purchase to facilitate wall or under-desk mounting situations.

Small Form Factor Player

Small form factor players should be used when content is planned to be highly interactive, high definition, or otherwise more graphically intensive. This size allows for the addition of a discrete graphics card to improve the responsiveness and graphics performance. However, this increased size does not allow for mounting to the wall behind a display, so additional consideration must be made for where the player can be located in relation to the sign display.
