Objective
In the Rich Content Editor, there are several ways to share a file from OneDrive or SharePoint. This guide covers the Copy/Paste method and Hyperlink button only. If you have added documents to your Canvas course another way and are experiencing difficulties replacing those links, please reach out to nusupport@nebraska.edu.
Steps
1. In Canvas, navigate to a link that needs to be replaced.

2. Click ONCE on an existing hyperlink to open the Link Options button.

3. Click Link Options. A side window will open allowing you to edit the Text shown on the page as a hyperlink and the Link itself.


4. Navigate to your OneDrive file library and locate the desired file. Click on the three dots to the right of that document and click Copy Link. This will automatically copy the existing access link. However, in order to share the document correctly with students, you will need to click the Settings button to change the link permissions.


5. Choose the Anyone link sharing setting. Click Apply. The link is automatically copied.

6. Go back to your Canvas page, delete the existing link and paste the new link into the Link box. Click Done.
7. Click Save when you are finished editing.
