Canvas logoCanvas (by Instructure) is a cloud-based learning management system (LMS) that is currently used by more than 700 colleges and universities around the world. Beginning with the Fall 2026 semester, a single converged instance of Canvas will be used by all of the University campuses (UNL, UNO, UNK, UNMC, & NCTA).  Please use and bookmark Canvas.nebraska.edu.  Legacy instances of Canvas, to view and retrieve content from the Summer 2026 and prior semesters, will be retained for a number of years.

Eligibility

All active NU students and faculty. Accounts are automatically created after the first time the user logs in.

There is no charge for this service, which is considered a common-good service.

Support for any Canvas user is available 24x7 through phone, chat or e-mail. To use this support:

  1. Login to Canvas
  2. Click 'Help' (question mark icon)
  3. Select the type of help you want to use
