Summary

During the Future Ready Workspace project, locally installed Microsoft 365 applications such as Office, Outlook, OneDrive, or Teams may re-request that you provide your password or need you to complete a full sign out / sign into a particular application. This will happen on University managed laptops and desktops that have not migrated as part of the project (for example: lab computers, student workstations, etc.).

Description

During the Future Ready Workspace project, locally installed Microsoft 365 applications such as Word, Outlook, OneDrive, or Teams may re-request that you provide your password or need you to complete a full sign out / sign into a particular application. This will happen on University managed laptops and desktops that have not migrated as part of the project (for example: lab computers, student workstations, etc.).

Users & Devices Impacted

  • Faculty / Staff / Students using:
  • University managed devices that have not migrated
    • Classrooms / Labs
    • Student Worker Workstations
    • Shared Workstations
    • Secondary / Tertiary devices

Before You Begin

If you are working on one of these un-migrated machines after December 21 you may receive a reauthentication prompt for each Microsoft Desktop application the first time you open it (examples: Word, Outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, etc.). When this occurs follow the steps below.

Steps

  1. If prompted to re-authenticate, provide your current TrueYou password.
  2. If re-authentication doesn't work, sign out / in to the affected desktop application.
  3. If sign out / in to the affected app doesn't work, restart your computer.
  4. If you continue to experience authentication issues, please access your Microsoft Applications via the web and then visit nusupport.nebraska.edu to submit a support request or send an email to nusupport@nebraska.edu.
