Managed cloud account service. We will provision you a full featured account on either AWS or Azure and assist you with the management of the account. This option is for technical end-users who want to deploy and manage their own cloud infrastructure with a bit of help and oversight.

- Independence: Your account can be completely isolated from campus networks or connected to them, it's your choice. This will be your own cloud account which you can do with whatever you'd like.
- Full Administrative Control: We will set you up with full administrative control of your new cloud account so you will have unrestricted access to whatever services you'd like to deploy. Useful for groups that would like a sandbox type environment to deploy their own resources or learn how to manage their own cloud environments. We also have the option to connect your environment back to campus for a hybrid setup so that campus resources can have private network access to your cloud resources.
- University Discounts: You will get access to University discounts received through the University's resellers as well as University licensing benefits.
- Reduce Management Overhead: Billing is all handled through the University's accounting team which simplifies billing for you and is one less thing for you to worry about with your account.
- Support Resources: Access to the University's support resources to help troubleshoot or manage your account. You will get access to the University's support staff for cloud infrastructure which can help you engineer a solution or resolve an issue or error you're having.
- Single Sign On: Single sign on support is available for both AWS or Azure so you can login with your NU ID and not have to remember another login/password.
Pricing
Pricing for a service like this can vary greatly and will ultimately depend on the resources you plan to consume. If you have a good idea of what resources you'd like to run on a cloud platform please contact us and we will do our best to get you an accurate estimate of what your account will cost to run with the resources intended.
Options
- Amazon Web Services (AWS): This is the cloud platform provided my Amazon commonly referred to as AWS. Generally considered a lower cost option than Azure but requires a bit more technical tinkering. A great option for all types of cloud hosting.
- Microsoft Azure: The cloud platform provided by Microsoft which is commonly referred to as just Azure. Generally considered a bit more expensive than AWS but requires a lot less tinkering to get services up and running. A great option for all types of cloud hosting and a specifically good option for Windows based services due to the licensing benefits.
