Installing or Upgrading ArcGIS Pro

Install ArcGIS Pro

Objective

This process will show you how to install, and license, ArcGIS Pro to your Windows computer using Software Center.

Before You Begin

You should uninstall any previous version of ArcGIS before proceeding with the installation.

Steps


New Users

  1. Install ArcGIS Pro
    1. Start > Software Center
    2. Select and Install ArcGIS ProArcGIS Pro tile in Software Center, showing version number.ArcGIS Pro Description Page in Software Center.
  2. Go to the University’s ArcGIS online portal  (https://universityofne.maps.arcgis.com/home/index.html)
  3. Select TrueYou SSOUploaded Image (Thumbnail)Screenshot of University TrueYou login screen with sample ID.
     
  4. Launch ArcGIS Pro
    1. You will be prompted to sign in
    2. Click on “Your Organization’s URL”ArcGIS Login Window showing 'Your ArcGIS organizations's URL' highlighted.
    3. Type in universityofne
    4. Click “Remember the URL” and then click ContinueArcGIS Login showing 'universityofne' in the ArcGIS organization's URL field.
    5. Click on TrueYou SSOArcGIS Login window showing TrueYou SSO button.
       
  5. Enter in your TrueYou Credentials
    1. click LoginTrueYou Login window showing sample ID.
       
    2. Approve DUO authenticationArcGIS Login showing TrueYou Duo Mobile popup.
  6. ArcGIS Pro should launch and show your information in the top right cornerScreen capture showing example of logged in account.

Current Users

  1. Uninstall any previous versions of ArcGIS (Pro or Desktop)
  2. Please follow the instructions listed above for installing ArcGIS Pro.

For those that previously signed in using your ESRI ArcGIS account, note that a license will not be provided to you and this authentication will be sunsetted on December 15th, 2024. If you previously stored data using this account, you will need to migrate it to your TrueYou account prior to that date.
