Secret Server - Receive Notifications on Individual Secrets

Objective

Notifications can be applied to individual secrets to notify users of any activity for shared credentials. This guide will instruct users on activating notifications on a single secret.

Before You Begin

Notifications can only be set on secrets that a user has View access or higher. If a user loses access to a particular secret, they will no longer receive notifications for it.

 

Instructions

  1. In a Secret's Details view, select the Settings tab.
  2. Click Edit on the upper-right side of the page, then select the checkbox to any of the relevant notifications to receive. Options are as follows:
    • Send email when viewed
    • Send email when changed
    • Send email when heartbeat fails
  3. After selecting the notifications, click Save in the center to save these settings.
NOTE:
Notification settings are applied on a per-user basis. Notifications will not be sent to other users who have View, Edit, or Owner permissions on the secret.
