Mac User Authenticate after Cloud Collaboration Migration

Issue Description

The following highlights the authentication user experience for Platform Single Sign-On (SSO) on macOS 15 or later.

Platform SSO on macOS 13 and 14 behaves similarly but prompts may appear differently from the macOS 15 behavior documented here. For best experience, it’s suggested the device is running the latest version of macOS.

Troubleshooting

  • Upon installation of the required components, a system notification will appear at an undetermined interval prompting the user to log in.

Registration Required: Use your identity provider password to log in to your Mac.

  • In macOS 15, upon clicking the system notification, users are shown a registration window with the option to continue.

Dialog box indicating Platform Single Sign-on Registration is required with the option Continue to be selected. Platform SSO asks for credentials

  •  The user will then enter their TrueYou Username in an SSO window.

Microsoft SSO to register device with Microsoft Entra

  • After successful authentication in SSO, the user will enter their password once more which will bring their local account password in sync with their Microsoft account.

Microsoft Entra asks for a password. Successful Platform Single Sign-on Registration is complete.
