Exporting MS Planner Plans and Data

Background/Overview

Content in MS Planner will not be migrated as part of the Future Ready Cloud Collaboration Workspace project, so if you want to retain a plan, you will need to export it out of your old campus tenant into the new nebraska.edu tenant after you have migrated. If you only need the plan data, you can do that before migration by exporting the data. You will need to request temporary access to their former account before you can complete this process.

Copying a MS Planner Plan

1. Go to https://portal.office.com .

2. Log in using your previous (campus) credentials.

3. Open Microsoft Planner.

4. Open the plan you wish to copy.

Click the arrow and choose Copy Plan

5. Click the drop down arrow to the right of the Plan name and choose Copy plan.

Enter name and group

6. Enter a new name for the plan (if desired) and search for/select the group where you wish to copy the plan.

Choose options

7. Choose everything you want to copy and click Copy.

8. Your new plan should be listed under My Plans.

Exporting Plan Information to Excel

1. Open Microsoft Planner.

2. Open the plan you want to export.

Click drop down arrow and choose Export plan to Excel

3. Click the drop-down arrow to the right of the plan name and choose Export plan to Excel.

4. The spreadsheet will download to your machine.
