Accommodations for Students
The Digital Learning Center (DLC) on the Lincoln campus is committed to providing an accessible and supportive testing environment for all students. The following testing accommodations are available to students who have an active accommodation plan on file with the Services for Students with Disabilities Office (SSD):
Available Accommodations
- Private Room – A quiet, isolated testing room for students requiring a fully distraction‑reduced environment.
- Height‑Adjustable Table (K and E rows*) – An ergonomic, accessible workstation designed for students with mobility or physical needs.
- Screen Reader Program – Assisted technology that reads digital text aloud for students with visual or processing‑related accommodations.
- Speech‑to‑Text Program (Private Room) – Software that converts spoken words into written text for students with writing or mobility‑related accommodations.
- Noise‑Canceling Headphones – Available to help reduce auditory distractions during exams.
- Dim Environment - Private rooms include dimmer switches to reduce light pollution for students with light sensitivity or other needs.
- Low Distraction Testing Station (K and E rows*) – A quieter area with minimized foot traffic for students who benefit from reduced environmental stimuli.
- Service Animal (16 row**) – Students with trained service animals may be seated in accessible areas that meet accommodation needs.
*K Row: The seating location that is assigned to the student inside the City Campus DLC that allows for reduced distractions and includes height-adjustable desks.
*E Row: The seating location that is assigned to the student inside the East Campus DLC that allows for reduced distractions and includes height-adjustable desks.
**16 Row: The seating location that is assigned to the student inside the City Campus DLC that provides enough space for service animals to comfortably accompany their handler.
If a student chooses not to register for an exam with their seating accommodation, the above rows may not be assigned to them when they check-in at the DLC.
