Grading without Canvas Pull Button

Objective

In situations where the Canvas Pull feature is not available or manual entry is required for posting grades, faculty can follow the step-by-step instructions below to directly input grades into the campus portal.

Users

Faculty at the UNK, UNL, UNMC, and UNO.

Steps

  1. Log into the campus portal:
  1. Select "Grade Roster" in the appropriate campus portal:

  1. Select a class by clicking on the "Grade Input Allowed" link. (Note: your view may vary from image below based on campus portal used.)

  1. Scroll to the "Student Grade" section at the bottom of the page.

  1. Enter the grade of each student using the drop down menu. You may want to open Canvas in a separate window or screen to expedite grade entry.

REMINDER: If there are more than 20 students in a class you will need to use the "View All" or arrows at the top or bottom of the menu to see all students.

  1. Scroll back to the "Grade Roster Action" section once grading is complete.

  1. Select the appropriate value ("Ready for Review" or "Approved") based on your role. Then click "Save".

  1. Click "Save" (or "Post" if available) to finish grading.

NOTE: the "Grade Roster Action" section will update based on the selection made (Save or Post).

  1. To enter grades for other classes, return to the top of the page and select "Change Class" (if available)

  1. Completed Grade Rosters will show as "Approved" or "Posted" in the campus portal.
