Impact of Future Ready Cloud Collaboration Project on Microsoft Applications

Summary

Overview of the impact of the Future Ready Cloud Collaboration project on Microsoft applications and steps you can take to lessen this impact.

Body

Overview/Background

The Future Ready Cloud Collaboration project will impact many Microsoft Apps, since the location and user IDs are changing.

Microsoft Stream, Loop, Lists, OneNote

  • The first time you access an app after migration, you may be asked to login with your TrueYou Username (NUID@nebraska.edu).
  • All of your content will be migrated to the new location.
  • Any links you have created to content in any Microsoft 365 app (OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, OneNote, etc.) will need to be recreated.
  • Any Microsoft 365 object (site, document, page, list, library, etc.) you have shared will need to be reshared.
  • Note:  When you create a link to a document, plan, form, list or any other item, or share an item with someone else, your ID and the ID of the recipient are both part of the link they receive. Since users are being migrated at different times, it is possible that the recipient has not yet had their account migrated when you create the link and you may need to do it again after they are migrated.

  • Any item you are using in a PowerAutomate or workflow will need to be reconnected to its new location.

Microsoft Apps/Data that will NOT migrate

Content in the following MS apps will NOT migrate:

  • Microsoft Bookings
  • Microsoft Planner
  • Microsoft Forms
  • Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power BI, Power Apps)
  • 3rd Party Add-ins and Non-Microsoft applications storing data separately from your Microsoft account

Microsoft Power Platform

Objects that are part of the Microsoft Power Platform will not be migrated during the Future Ready Cloud Collaboration project. If you would like to retain an object, Power Automate flows and solutions and Power Apps and solutions will need to be exported prior to migration and imported after migration, and Power BI reports will need to be downloaded before the migration and rebuilt afterward. After migration, you can complete a form to regain access to your previous account to export those items.

Additionally, if any of your processes or reports contain links to Office 365 objects or locations, they will need to be updated.
