A university telephone number can be used for faxing even if you don't want to have a physical fax machine to send and receive faxes. The Electronic Faxing service can send incoming faxes to an email address instead of printing on a physical fax machine.
Benefits & Features
- Receive faxes electronically
- Easily forward faxes to others via email
- Optionally send faxes from either a standard fax machine or from a website
Getting Started
We highly recommend that Electronic Fax numbers that will receive faxes for more than one person send email notifications to either a shared email account or a group distribution list. This way, time critical notifications are not missed if someone is out on leave. If you choose to have the fax attached to the email, we encourage a shared email account so that it is easy to tell when a message has been handled to prevent multiple people from handling the same message.
Pricing
- E-Fax (no Fax Machine) = $10.60 / Month
- E-Fax + Analog Phone Service (for use with a physical Fax Machine) = $23.00 / Month
* Prices include domestic faxing. International faxing can be enabled and will be charged at International rates that vary from country to country.
Options
Electronic Faxing can be setup in the following configurations
- Inbound Only: Faxes arrive electronically typically as an email attachment. Outbound faxes are still sent using a standard fax machine.
- Inbound and outbound: Besides being able to receive faxes Electronically, with outbound faxing you can send faxes directly from your computer keeping you from having to first print out a document prior to sending it from a physical fax machine.
- International Faxing. If you would like to be able to send Faxes internationally this can also be configured.
