Emerging Technologies Pilots

Icon representing emerging technologies for academic useThe Emerging Technologies team has created a formalized process to help identify and pilot new technologies faculty/staff are interested in trying or implementing. This process will consist of an application, review process, and follow up on success of the pilot. Review the information on this page and reach out if you have any questions.

Getting Started

  • Select the Request a Pilot button
  • Fill in all required questions in the piloting form

The Emerging Technologies team will review the request and follow up  with additional questions if needed.

Requirements

To successfully complete the application, you will need the following information:

  • Tool name
  • URL for the tool/company
  • Vendor contact information (if applicable)
  • A description of what the tool will be used for
  • A description of why you want to use the tool
  • Which campus(es) the tool is for
  • If you intend to implement the tool for a specific class, department, college, or if it can be implemented campus-wide or system-wide 
  • When you hope to first implement the tool
  • If there is a cost for the tool/what is the cost
  • If you have funding identified or not

Additional Information

The members of a pilot for an approved tool will work with the emerging technologies team to identify key success metrics and help evaluate the tool for larger implementation. Please note: each tool implementation may consist of a different strategy and time line based on information provided and potential risk.
