Benefits & Features
- Redundancy: Be it on-premises or in the cloud one of the biggest benefits of enterprise data storage over traditional local storage is redundancy. Storage is allocated from an array of devices all of which compose a system that is resistant to hardware failures. If you're storing critical data on a local device and that device is broken or stops functioning, it is very likely that data is lost without a very intensive and expensive recovery process. Because enterprise data storage is stored on an array of devices, one or many devices can fail and the data isn't destroyed or lost.
- Access Controlled Hardware: The hardware your data resides on is located in an access controlled data center and only qualified employees are allowed access to the devices themselves. This is the same situation with cloud data storage however on a much larger and global scale.
