Troubleshooting Screen Freezing in EMS

Description of Error

User is working in EMS on a process that should open a new window. The new window doesn't open and the rest of EMS "freezes" and they are unable to click on anything or move their windows. Sometimes the new window will "flash" briefly but they are unable to get to it or their machine will beep when they click on something.

Resolution / Next Steps

1. If they are using the Windows App to access EMS, press Ctrl+Alt+Delete and choose Task Manager.

2. Find the Windows App in the list of programs, click on it and choose Close Program.

3. Reopen the Windows App and log into EMS again.

4. Click Settings > Reset Windows Coordinates.

5. Click Settings > Reset Column Settings.

6. You should now be able to access the new window when it opens.
