UNL Huskertech offers an in-house repair center that is certified for Apple, Dell, HP, and Lenovo devices. We have locations on City and East Campus. We offer discounted repair services for UNL faculty, staff, and students on personal and university machines. In addition to repairs, we provide other services such as malware removal, OS installs, data transfers, etc. These other services are free if the user remains in the help center while the work is being done.
Getting Started
We recommend bringing your device into the UNL Help Center to have one of our technicians run diagnostics and troubleshoot. At that time we can recommend options and have the device checked in.
Eligibility
Students, Staff, Faculty and departments on the UNL campus.
Pricing
Repair
In warranty repairs are free. Repairs for devices that are out of warranty include the part cost and labor fee.
Other Services
These services are free if the user remains in the help center while the work is being done, otherwise the following rates apply.
Diagnostics
Software/Hardware Diagnostics - $15.00 flat rate
- Diagnose specific issues or perform general diagnostics. If a repair is needed, the diagnostic fee is only applicable if the repair is not done at Huskertech.
Operating System and Software
Operating System Update - $10.00 flat rate
- Operating system software update. Both Mac and Windows.
Operating System Full Installation - $40.00 + $20/hr after 1st hour
- Clean installation or re-installation of operating system. User is responsible for having a license for their own copy of Windows. Any data backups or data transfers will have an additional fee. (listed below)
Software Installation - $15.00 per install
- Installation and setup of software applications.
Data and Storage
Data Recovery/Backup - $40/hr
- Data recovery or backup without transferring to new laptop. User must have their own storage device to move data to.
Data Transfer - $40.00 + $20/hr after 1st hour
- Data transfer from a previous back up or from one machine to another.
Device Setup
New Device Setup without Data Transfer - $20.00 flat rate
- Assistance in setting up a new device. Includes account setup, logging in to email and other services, etc. Any software installations will include the $15 fee.
New Device Setup with Data Transfer - $40.00 + $20/hr after 1st hour
- Assistance in setting up a new device. Includes the basic setup above, as well as transfer of data from an external storage device or other laptop.
Hardware Install
Hard Drive/SSD Install - $30.00 flat rate
- Installation of hard drive, including removing old drive if necessary. User must provide the new hard drive.
RAM Install - $20.00 flat rate
- Installation of RAM. User must provide the new RAM hardware.

Availability/Hours
Monday through Friday, 8:00AM to 5:00PM. Closed on all University holidays.
