Exporting a File from EMS Using the Windows App

Objective

This article contains the procedure for exporting a file from EMS when using the Windows App to access the EMS client.

Users

Current users of the Windows apps for accessing the EMS client.

Before You Begin

You should have the Windows app installed and be able to access the EMS client.

Steps

1. Run the report or generate the item you wish to export/save.

2. Choose to export the data/save the file.

3. Click This PC to navigate to where you would like to save the file.

4. Click on your computer name (C on {ComputerName}) and Users and then the entry for your ID – either your short name or NUID or whatever you use to log onto your computer.

5. Click through the file navigation to where you would like to save the file. If you have an area where you commonly store documents, you might consider adding it to your Quick Access area to avoid having to navigate through all of the folder structure to get to it.

6. Click the file location and click Save.

7. To find your file after you export it, follow that same menu path on your local machine. If you get a message from EMS asking if you want to open the file, don't choose to open it that way and instead navigate to the file on your machine and open it from there.
