The Future Ready Cloud Collaboration project will dramatically simplify the available communication and association or teamwork between campuses, enable the adoption of bundled Microsoft 365 services and reduce the overall cybersecurity risk. 

To assist with the transfer of your email address and device (laptop or desktop), ITS has provided this checklist. Please contact your campus ITS Help Center (LoperTECH, HukertTECH, or MavTECH) with any questions. 

Before Your Scheduled Migration

These steps can be completed any time before your scheduled migration date:

  • Ensure that all updates are installed and completed on your laptop or desktop 

  • Ensure that you are signed in on OneDrive, and the Sync is clear of errors 

  • Backup up your favorites on your browsers, though logging in on the browser or exporting them to a file and saving it to OneDrive 

Day of your schedule migration

  • Ensure that your laptop or desktop is connected to the network (VPN or on campus)  

  • Ensure that your laptop or desktop is set to “never go to sleep” 

  • Your migration will begin at 6:00PM (CT), if your device is in your home office (not on campus) ensure your laptop or desktop is connected to the network using VPN. 

  • The connection to the network using VPN will need to reboot. You will need to sign in using VPN 3 times during the first 2 hours of the migration. 

  • Remote devices – please ensure that your laptop is connected to VPN before 6:00pm (this will need to be completed after you complete your workday at 5:00 pm (CT)

Day after your scheduled migration 

  • Log into your machine 15-20 minutes prior to starting your workday. The migration agent needs to finalize some steps before you can start your work. 

  • Please use your username to reconnect to Eduroam on all devices. The connection to Eduroam will be lost during the migration. 

  • Please use your username (NUID@nebraska.edu) to sign into any secondary devices, such as phone or tablet.  

  • This will ensure that you continue to receive emails and messages on these devices. 

  • If you have a Remote Desktop and only when you are attempting to log on 

  • Sign into the PrinterLogic Print Agent to find printers to allow printing to continue. 

  • Remap any local printers 

  • Re-share links from SharePoint as these links will be updated with the migration. 

  • Sign into OneDrive to resynch your files 

  • Sign into your browser or import your favorites through your export from your OneDrive
