Objective
These are the steps PC users should take to prepare for the Future Ready Cloud Collaboration Migration.
Users
Faculty and Staff listed in the migration list on a nightly basis.
Other Information
The Future Ready Cloud Collaboration project will dramatically simplify the available communication and association or teamwork between campuses, enable the adoption of bundled Microsoft 365 services and reduce the overall cybersecurity risk.
To assist with the transfer of your email address and device (laptop or desktop), ITS has provided this checklist. Please contact your campus ITS Help Center (LoperTECH, HuskerTECH, or MavTECH) with any questions.
Before Your Scheduled Migration
These steps can be completed any time before your scheduled migration date:
Ensure that all updates are installed and completed on your laptop or desktop
If you use OneDrive:
Ensure that you are signed in on OneDrive, and the Sync is clear of errors: OneDrive > Settings > Sync this OneDrive
Generate your OneDrive Sharing Report to see what files you will need to reshare after migration
Day of your schedule migration
At the end of your work day, do NOT power off your device. You can log out and/or lock it, but do NOT turn it off.
If your device is on campus, ensure that it is connected to the network.
Your migration will begin at 6:00PM (CT). If your device is in your home office (not on campus) ensure your laptop or desktop is connected to the network using VPN.
Day after your scheduled migration
Log into your machine 15-20 minutes prior to starting your work day. The migration agent needs to finalize some steps before you can start your work and you may need some extra time to address any issues and ensure everything is working correctly.

Reconnect to Eduroam on all devices using your username (NUID@nebraska.edu). Note: You may need to log onto Eduroam before you are able to log into your device.

Verify that you have succesfully migrated by checking that your screen says "Sign in to nead.nebraska.edu". If you see "Sign in to unl.edu, unk.edu or unomaha.edu", your machine did not migrate. Proceed with entering your old username and password. A member of the ITS User Support group will contact you later about migrating your machine. There is nothing you need to do at this time - you can continue working on your machine using your old username and password.
Run the On Demand Migration Desktop Update Agent on your machine to complete the setup process for your apps:
- Click in the Search box in the lower left of your screen and type in "On Demand Migration Desktop Update Agent".

- Click on the result to begin the program and walk through the steps following the prompts.
Sign into the PrinterLogic Print Agent to find printers to allow printing to continue.
Log into all Microsoft 365 apps (OneDrive, Teams, SharePoint) and Office 365 apps (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.) using your username (NUID@nebraska.edu).
Re-share links from SharePoint as these links will have been updated with the migration.
Re-share links from your OneDrive as these links will have been updated with the migration.
Sign into Office 365 or email apps on any secondary devices such as phones or tablets using your username (NUID@nebraska.edu). This will ensure that you continue to receive emails and messages on these devices.
